Will it fit my faucet?
It's 7.1 in wide and 8.7 in tall, which covers standard outdoor spigots and most frost-free faucets. If yours sticks out more than about 4 inches from the wall or has an oversized handle, measure before you order.
How many do I need?
Count your outdoor faucets. Most houses have two, front and back. Add the garage or the side yard if you've got one there. The 4 pack covers all of it with one spare.
Does it stop the pipe from freezing?
No cover can promise that. What it does is keep wind and ice off the faucet and hold the warmth coming through the wall around it. Disconnect the hose, and in a hard freeze let the indoor tap drip.
Do I need to take the hose off?
Yes. A hose left attached traps water in the faucet and that water freezes, cover or no cover. Unscrew it, let the faucet drain, then put the cover on.
Will it blow off in the wind?
Not if the strap is pulled snug. Cinch it until the cover sits flat against the house. That's also what keeps the wind from getting underneath.
Can I use it again next year?
Yes. Pull it off after the last freeze, let it dry, fold it flat and keep it with the garden stuff.
